Former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj passes away at 67

Former Supreme Court lawyer, later an influential leader Sushma Swaraj is no more. Tuesday evening on 6th August, she was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIMMS) due to notable declination in her health. Evidently, it was concluded that she was suffering from cardiac arrest. She was declared dead at 10:30 PM. The demise of 67-year-old Sushma Swaraj has left the nation in tears. 

“A senior BJP leader and former Minister of External Affairs will be cremated at Lodhi Road on Wednesday with full state honors”, states the BJP working President Jagat Prakash Nadda. Her mortal remains will be brought to the BJP headquarters at 12 noon and will be sent for cremation around 3 pm.

India grieves the demise of a remarkable leader who devoted her life to public service and bettering lives of the poor. As a homage to the great leader, former President of INC Rahul Gandhi tweeted, ” I’m shocked to hear about the demise of Sushma Swaraj Ji, an extraordinary political leader, a gifted orator & an exceptional Parliamentarian, with friendships across party lines. My condolences to her family in this hour of grief. May her soul rest in peace.”

On this heart-rending occasion, the former President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai tweeted, “Deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Behinji Sushma Swaraj. A tall leader and a great orator and people’s person. My profound condolences to the people of India and her family and friends.”
