According to the police, the incident took place at 5:45 am. The plane was only 50 metres away from the terminal five.
Stockholm: Early morning today at Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport, an Air India flight bumped a building when it was merely 50 metres away from the fifth terminal. Fifth terminal is the main terminal for International flights. The good thing is that, not a single passenger got injured. All 179 passengers came out safely. According to airport operator Swedavia’s website, the flight had originated in New Delhi.
“The 179 passengers could disembark from the plane on a mobile staircase and thereafter enter the terminal,” police wrote in a statement. The main cause of the incident is still not known,police said.
From the pictures after the incident, we can see the Boeing aircraft parked on the runway with the very tip of its left wing stuck in the side of a building. Many fire trucks and several police cars were parked by the plane.
